FREE Youth Summer Storytelling Program
We are inviting youth ages 14 to 25 to join us for two weeks of creative exploration along the Kagawong River Trail. Theatre Maker Lisa Hamalainen and Anishinaabe/Onkwehón:we Cultural Coordinator Shelba Deer will lead participants through creative writing, storytelling and drama activities as well as Anishinaabek Cultural teachings with a focus on land-based learning. Participants will spend two weeks walking the Kagawong trail, participating in physical and creative workshops and developing a collaboratively created performance. The program will culminate with a presentation of the group’s performance at 4elements Elemental Festival in September. Programming is free and includes transportation support and daily lunch. A great opportunity to connect with nature, learn about community and gain performance experience.
*COVID-19 Guidelines will be in effect. Programming will shift as needed to assure participants’ safety*
