FREE Summer Storytelling Workshop for Youth
Are you between the ages of 14 and 25?
Do you have an interest in storytelling, performance, writing and connecting with nature?
Would you like to share and learn stories about the Kagawong River?
4elements Living Arts invites you to join Theatre Maker Lisa Hamalainen and Anishinaabe/Onkwehón:we Cultural Coordinator Shelba Deer for two weeks of creative exploration along the Kagawong River Trail. Lisa and Shelba will lead participants through creative writing, storytelling and drama activities as well as Anishinaabek Cultural teachings with a focus on land-based learning. Participants will spend two weeks walking the Kagawong trail, participating in physical and creative workshops and developing a collaboratively created performance. The program will culminate with a presentation of the group’s performance at 4elements Elemental Festival in September. Programming is free and includes transportation support and daily lunch. A great opportunity to connect with nature, learn about community and gain performance experience.
*COVID-19 Guidelines will be in effect. Programming will shift as needed to assure participants’ safety*

Registration Deadline: June 11
Program Dates: August 3rd to 7th and August 10th to 14th 10am-2pm
Festival Dates: Sept 25th & 26th, times to be confirmed
